As every year, the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR), the Home for Cooperation (H4C) and the Home Cafe are organizing the International Day of Peace. We warmly invite everyone to join us for a day of unity and dialogue – a special gathering bringing people together to connect, share, listen, and mark what unites us.
📅 This year, we’re coming together on Sunday, 20 September, from 16:00 to 23:00 at the Home for Cooperation.
Program of the day brings together dialogue, learning, creativity and community, with activities for different ages and interests:
Programme
16:00–18:00 | Roundtable Discussion – “Voices Against Racism”
A discussion bringing together voices from different backgrounds to explore experiences of racism and discrimination and discuss how we can work towards more inclusive and peaceful societies.
17:30–19:30 | Educational Walk – “Streets to Peace: Peacebuilding and the Urban Space”
Join Melek Kaptanoğlu and Loizos Kapsalis for a walk through the walled town of Nicosia, exploring how individuals, groups and organisations across the divide have used the urban space to build dialogue, collaboration and a sustainable culture of peace on the island.

18:30–19:30 | “Painting Peace Together” – Children’s Activity
Michalis Pantelidis will facilitate a collaborative textile-painting workshop where children will explore the question: “If peace had a colour, shape or symbol, what would it look like?” Their individual ideas will come together to create a shared artwork celebrating peace, coexistence and community.
19:30–20:15 | Imagine Peace Academy Launch
Building on more than a decade of experience generated through the Imagine programme, join us for the launch of the Imagine Peace Academy, a strategic evolution and upscaling that will create new opportunities for educators, young learners, parents and civil society actors to engage in peacebuilding, dialogue and cooperation.
17:00–23:00 | NGO Fair
Meet organisations and initiatives working across Cyprus and learn more about the different ways civil society contributes to peace, dialogue, solidarity and social change.
Food & Music
Stay with us into the evening for fresh food by Pastadelic, drinks from the Home Cafe and music by DJ Patsa.
Invest in Peace – For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.
We look forward to coming together with our community to mark this important day and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace.
