Loizos, AHDR’ History Education Officer, is a social and cultural historian specializing in the history of gender and sexuality. He completed his PhD at King’s College London in 2019. Since then, he has worked with multi-disciplinary teams at King’s College London, the European University Cyprus and the University of Cyprus, and as a freelance researcher for commercial publications. In 2020 he co-founded the bαhçές histories* of Cyprus, a monthly webinar series which invites scholars, artists and practitioners to share their work with a live audience. At AHDR, Loizos develops and delivers non-formal educational programmes relating to the history of Cyprus for students (primary to tertiary education level) and educators (pre-service, in-service). He participates in research projects and manages teams of researchers in collaboration with other organizations. He provides liaison with stakeholders (teachers, schools, teachers’ unions) across the divide in Cyprus for capacity building and programme delivery.
