Coming soon!

Over the past few months we have been working on a project called “People of Peace Education”, which is the final dissemination outcome of the International Institute on Peace Education (IIPE) 2019, a weeklong residential experience organized in Nicosia by the IIPE Secretariat and the AHDR. The goal of this project is to raise awareness and give the general public a deeper understanding of Peace Education, along with producing a final work that includes the various valuable inputs provided by the participants.

The project will be both in printed and in online form: the former will be shaped into a booklet entailing information about IIPE 2019, which was developed around the theme of Educating for a Culture of Peace in Divided Societies, and interviews of Peace Education experts. The publication will be distributed in libraries, universities, schools and other meeting places, but will also be available online, only a click away from anyone interested.

The online component will include a website presenting a world map with the locations of Peace Educators and the different activities carried out by them, along with video interviews and other informational material. Social Media posts will also be uploaded frequently on the AHDR and IIPE page, featuring the work and words of individual practitioners from around the globe.

Last but not least, the project will include a Spotify playlist collecting all the songs that experts feel attached to when speaking of Peace Education. This will be accessible by anyone who feels the need for some inspiration!

We are confident that with this project we will be able to reach out to you and all those interested in the themes of Peace and History Education, but also to the general public, raising awareness on the importance of education in these fields and reflecting upon the importance of individual daily action for building a more peaceful future. Stay tuned for future information!
