She actively contributed as a board member at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Women Community and the Cyprus Women’s Health Research Society, highlighting her commitment to gender equality and community advancement. Melis has a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Leicester and a master's degree in Cancer Therapeutics from Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
