Dora holds a BA in Byzantine and Modern Greek Literature and a BA in Sociology from the University of Cyprus, as well as an MSSc in Gender Studies – Intersectionality and Change from Linköping University, Sweden. She is a peace educator, gender expert and senior project manager with over ten years of experience designing and delivering education, human rights and inclusion-focused initiatives in Cyprus and across Europe, with particular expertise in non-formal and experiential education, capacity-building and the development of educational methodologies.
Her areas of expertise include Peace Education, Gender Equality, Intersectionality, Intercultural Dialogue, Democratic Participation and Social Inclusion. Since 2017, Dora has worked as a Peace Education Trainer with the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR), facilitating workshops with Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot pupils and teachers, and she has served as a lead facilitator in the ‘Imagine’ school training programme. She has managed and contributed to programmes funded under Erasmus+, Creative Europe, EuropeAid, AMIF, Horizon 2020, UNDEF and EIDHR through her work with Synthesis Centre for Research and Education and Future Worlds Centre. Between 2023 and 2024, she was a member of the national pool of trainers for the Council of Europe project “Enhancing the Local Government Reform in Cyprus.”
In 2018, she received the Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou Bi-communal Award for her grassroots feminist and community-based work, including the co-organisation of the “Genders and Power” festival. She has also been a keynote speaker at bi-communal and international events on gender, youth and peacebuilding.
