About the project:
The Environmental Group is part of the AHDR Peace Ambassadors programme which carried out an intercommunal hike; where participants had the opportunity to explore the unique flora and fauna of the Kyrenia district during a guided hike.The event brought together environmentally conscious youth and adults from diverse backgrounds. Following the hike and picnic, participants joined an educational tour at the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute, where they gained in-depth knowledge about the conservation and rehabilitation efforts being made to address the island’s wildlife issues.

This experience not only heightened our awareness of nature conservation and sustainability but also reminded us of our shared responsibility to address the common issues present across the whole island and planet. The sense of unity, solidarity, and camaraderie felt throughout the day reinforced commitment to protecting the environment and underscored the importance of taking further steps for a better future.
