The speaking guide, a self-learning tool, has a selection of phrases and vocabulary useful in everyday communication, as well as grammar and exercises to facilitate the learning of Greek, Turkish, and their Cypriot varieties. The idea of developing the speaking guide is to increase the opportunity and availability of teaching materials to learn these languages; and to act as a bridge for an inter-communal dialogue and interaction between the communities living in Cyprus. The development and promotion of the daily speaking guide is implemented by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) and is supported by OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities (OSCE HCNM). A digital version is developed to utilise the printed material to its greater potential to aid learning of the contemporary technological advancements. The digital version includes a website (www.kitap-kitapi.com) and smart phone application for Android and iOS operating systems.
