Title: Operations Officer
Özge Özoğul Operations Officer Özge Özoğul is the Operations Officer of the AHDR. She works on coordinating AHDR projects, intern housing and recruitment; the AHDR communications and outreach; and managing the Association’s day-to-day operations among other tasks. She was born and grew up in Nicosia, and graduated from the University of Southampton, the United Kingdom. During her bachelor’s degree, she joined the Erasmus Programme and studied at the University of Salamanca, Spain for a year, and worked at various non-governmental organizations. In 2014 Özge received her M.A. degree from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in Multilingualism with a specialization in Multilingual Education and Language Policy Planning. During her graduate school, she was a member of the Programme Committee of her degree programme and she completed her placement at Tilburg University as a Research Assistant. Upon completion of her M.A., in 2014, she received a scholarship from the European Union to pursue a Ph.D. in the Basque Country, in the Programme ‘Education: School, Language and Society’. She is preparing to defend her Ph.D. thesis at the University of the Basque Country. Her research interests include Minority Education, Linguistic Diversity, Intercultural Competence and Identity. Özge is excited to bring her love of community and culture to the Association.
