Süleyman Gelener Secretary Süleyman Gelener holds a BA (Hons) in Science of Education – Primary Education from Atatürk Teacher Training Academy and a Master of Arts in International Studies in Education from the University of Birmingham. Since the early 2000s, he has been engaged in civil society that focuses on historical inquiry, contemporary understanding and peace building. He is actively taking part in civil society organizations local and international promoting peace, democracy, social justice and equality through the development of education. He contributes to the undertaking new initiatives on how education can contribute to conflict transformation, peace, reconciliation and countering of prejudice, discrimination, racism, xenophobia and extremism. He served as a board member of the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research in the last two terms. He currently lives in Nicosia, Cyprus and works as a teacher.
